Writer in Residence – Rhiannon Hall and Little Mountain Readings

Over the last six weeks, we have welcomed Rhiannon Hall to our school as part of our inaugural Writer in Residence program. Students from Moss Vale Public, Robertson Public, Bowral and Moss Vale High Schools have participated in three hour long workshops that began with gathering ideas, continued drafting and peer editing before submitting completed poems to be included in the Place anthology.

Two students from Moss Vale High, Ben and Angel, attended the Little Mountain Readings at Sturt Gallery in Mittagong on Saturday night to read, while Acacia sang and played guitar to open the show and during intermission. Acacia and Angel also performed during the open mic, with Acacia winning the ‘Lead Logie’ pencil. Angel received a special mention from judge Phillip Hall, and encouragement to continue writing.
